La Comunidad Jam, LCJ, is a vibrant musical community dedicated to the joy of collective music creation. We believe in the power of coming together, sharing, and enjoying music as a means of self-expression and collaboration. Whether you're a seasoned musician or a complete beginner, LCJ welcomes all to join our inclusive community. We explore the art of music through a unique blend of body movement, vocalization, and a shared sign language that enables real-time music composition. We also introduce essential musical concepts not as goals but as tools to facilitate our collaborative journey. All instruments are welcome, and if your instrument requires power or amplification, please reach out in advance to check accommodation possibilities. La Comunidad Jam is where we discover our unique sounds and create beautiful music together. Ezequiel Iwan was born in Buenos Aires, where his musical journey began. With a deep passion for music, he developed into a versatile multi-instrumentalist, honing his skills in percussion and string instruments. His musical education led him to study jazz guitar in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and afrocuban percussion in the heart of La Habana, Cuba, where he had the privilege of learning from masters such as Ernesto Jodos and Alejandro Carvajal Guerra. Over the past two decades, Ezequiel has dedicated himself to the study, practice, and teaching of various improvisational forms. He has honed his expertise as an instructor in the Rhythm with Signs Method, a technique created by Santiago Vazquez (known for his work with La Bomba de Tiempo and La Grande). Ezequiel's commitment to this method has allowed him to impart its wisdom to eager learners. Ezequiel's passion for music education led him to establish EPA! Escuela de Percusión Ambulante, a unique mobile school that takes its workshops to different corners of the world, sharing the joy of percussion and rhythm with enthusiastic students everywhere.
